Description
Hedychium 'Pink V' - citrus scented flowers that are cream with a deep rose center; 4'-6'; winter hardiness zone 7-10. This item is a PLANT, and will arrive in ~4" pots from tissue culture. (These are best grown in 70°+ soil or start indoors ahead of time on a heat mat).

Native to tropical Asia Himalaya and Madagascar which produces spectacular 12" tall flower heads crowning 3'-5' stems in late summer. Each flower head has 20-100 of 2" individual very fragrant colorful blossoms reminiscent of flashy tropical birds. Tolerant of heavy soils their normal habitat is the edge of the forest but where there is plenty of light and lots of moisture during growing season. They are performing happily near the edge of our pond and will do well in full sun with ample moisture. Blooms late summer until frost; may not bloom the 1st year and needs a long growing season so if they are not hardy for you it would be best to pot them up in at least a 15" pot.

Our pollinators are so important to the sustainability of our gardens and food crops for insect and birds and if each of us participates in healthy gardening practices and chooses some of the pollinator attracting plants, we can collectively make a HUGE difference.
