Amethyst - pale lavender flowers.

From a Greek word meaning 'without brilliance' because each floret is very small, but collectively, these plants put on a real show; Native to E. Asia to N. America, not a bulb but a great companion to many summer blooming bulbs and other perennials; ferny, decorative foliage on a small shrub like plant with millions of tiny little florets forming lots of spikes of 'sea foam' flowers in many soft colors; prefers rich, humusy but well-drained soil and full sun to partial shade; a terrific addition to our tropical and teaching gardens; blooms early-mid summer; zones 5-8; jumbo bare root clumps.
