Native to Mexico and Central America, Dahlias provide us with more pleasure than almost any other summer bulbs. They produce an abundance of wonderful flowers perfect for ‘gift giving flower arrangements’ throughout early summer and again in late summer until frost. If they are picked for arrangements, these ‘cut and come again’ plants require almost no care and come in a myriad of colors. They are happiest in full sun but will tolerate light shade. Top-sized tuberous root clusters; approx. 1 per sq. ft; whz 8-10; have overwintered in our whz 7 gardens with extra winter mulch and excellent drainage among our daffodils and tulips; most flowers are 2″-3″ across and plants are 1′-2′ tall, unless otherwise stated.
